Our agency is committed to providing developmental support services that uphold the dignity, safety, and rights of every individual we serve. We recognize that many of the individuals we support may be vulnerable, and we take our responsibility to protect their wellbeing seriously.
Client Rights
Individuals receiving services through our agency have the right to:
- Be treated with respect, dignity, and fairness at all times
- Receive services free from abuse, neglect, exploitation, or discrimination
- Participate in decisions affecting their services, to the extent they are able
- Have their personal information kept confidential, subject to legal and safety obligations
- Receive services within a clearly defined and agreed-upon scope
- Raise concerns or complaints without fear of retaliation
Safeguards and Ethical Practices
To promote a safe and supportive service environment, our agency has established safeguards that include:
- A zero-tolerance approach to abuse, neglect, or exploitation
- Clear professional boundaries and codes of conduct for all staff
- Screening, orientation, and supervision of individuals providing services
- Defined procedures for incident identification, documentation, and escalation
- Confidentiality and privacy practices aligned with applicable Ontario legislation
- Ongoing review of policies and service practices to support continuous improvement
Insurance and Risk Management
Appropriate safeguards and insurance coverage are maintained prior to the commencement of services to support accountability and responsible service delivery.
Raising Concerns or Providing Feedback
Clients, families, and authorized representatives are encouraged to share feedback or raise concerns related to services. All concerns are taken seriously and addressed in a respectful and timely manner in accordance with established procedures.
